Smart Coats Coat Thinners – Coarse Or Fine

Using the same principle as the Smart Tails and Manes, the Smart Coats have a wider blade width of 5″ that makes them brilliant for removing the winter undercoat.

Tried and tested on ponies with Cushings, Donkeys and Shetland ponies. Continue to use the Smart Coats during the non shedding season and the rake will actually thin the coat by cutting.

Using the Smart Coats in the Spring time on all other large animals as well, will allow removal of the winter coat to be done very quickly as the head is so wide.

The Smart Coats tools are available with either a coarse or a fine blade, but these are interchangeable as the rakes can take replacement blades. The Smart Coats do not give a smooth clipped finish but do leave the coat tidy.

Also useful for dogs, the Smart Coats are easy and quick to use and are brilliant for removing the thick undercoat, dematting and taking out loose moulting hair.  Leaves the coat thinned and easily managed.

Which Blade type to choose?

Coarse Blades (30 Teeth) Good for very thick, coarse matted coats or particularly dense hair.

Fine Blades (60 Teeth) Good on finer, softer hair but where there is a lot of it, or for use after being initially thinned with the coarse blade.
