The Shires Sweet Iron Pelham with a Copper Lozenge works by applying a variety of pressures – on the poll, corner bars, tongue and chin groove.

The Sweet Iron is darker in colour and designed to oxidise (rust) and produce a sweet taste to help with mouthing as it encourages salivation. The copper lozenge also promotes warmth, salivation and softening and removes the nutcracker action within the mouth, so is considered to be less severe than a single joint.

Bit Rings and shanks are made of Stainless Steel.
