The Jointed Rugby Pelham can be used for showing and has a jointed mouthpiece and therefore a nutcracker action. This is good for horses whose mouth is not big enough for two bits
Rugby pelham bits attempt the same results as a double bridle, but using only one bit. They work on the points of control in the mouth, plus the poll and curb groove. The result of pressure on the curb groove, is a pivoting action, causing the head to tilt into the conventional ‘on the bit’ postition.
Rugby pelham bits are good for strong horses and look correct in the showing ring
Made from stainless steel, these bits are safe and easy to clean
