French Link Rugby Pelham

The French Link Rugby Pelham is a relatively gentle pelham because there is no nutcracker action from the mouthpiece. The french link pelham is good for horses that need a stronger bit but are reluctant to take a contact in the single jointed pelhams. The Rugby Pelhams can be used for showing as it mimics the appearance of a double bridle without the fuss of two bits.

The French Link Rugby Pelham is also good for horses whose mouth is not big enough for two bits Pelham bits attempt the same results as a double bridle, but using only one bit. They work on the points of control in the mouth, plus the poll and curb groove.

The result of pressure on the curb groove, is a pivoting action, causing the head to tilt into the conventional ‘on the bit’ position.
