The Caldene leatherwork is made from beautifully supple vegetable tanned leather. Vegetable tanned leather is eco-friendly, in contrast to most chemically tanned leathers, as chrome tanning produces toxic waste. The vegetable tanning process takes longer but ensures the leather is extremely strong and supple. The resulting leather has a beautiful consistent finish, is very strong, supple and hypoallergenic.
